Psychotherapy

Family therapy is a form of therapy where one or several members of a family work with the therapist.

The aim of family therapy is to build a mutual understanding of the interaction within the family in a way which improves the wellbeing of the whole family unit.

During a therapy session the whole family can be present, or alternatively a few/one of the family members. The way the sessions are built varies; the needs and the situation of the family at hand determine the ways a session is executed.

Family therapy may be a possibility to understand and face different kind of difficulties and challenges together, with people close to self. Even when life brings up things that cannot be changed – understanding the situation, sharing experiences and finding personal strength can truly help to carry on in the everyday life.

Family therapy is a great way to find and build possibilities to go forward in life – despite any difficulties.

It is also possible to use functional therapy methods in the family sessions, such as theraplay and dog-assisted therapy.
