Inroduction
I am Hanna Lampi, Family psychotherapist, occupational therapist, MSC and Theraplay-practitioner and trainer.
I specialize in Family therapy for families that have young children and children’s occupational therapy. In addition I offer Theraplay and Nurture and Play services, training and supervision.
I have a background in Early education and early music education.
Animal-assisted therapy
One of my services, Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) is a goal-directed intervention, where an animal (that fits a certain criteria) is an essential part of the treatment process. Animal-Assisted Therapy can be provided by a social and health care professional who has specialized in this field of therapy.
My therapy dogs René and Bardi work with me as my work companions in dog-assisted occupational therapy and dog-assisted psychotherapy. René has passed the feasibility test required for this position in 2014 and worked as my therapy dog since he was a puppy. In addition, I have myself studied at Jyväskylä’s University of Applied Sciences, where I attended the University’s course on Dog-Assisted Education and Rehabilitation in 2015. Bardi is studying to become a therapy dog side by side with René.
The use and goals of dog-assisted therapy are always agreed together with the client at hand and usually the dog-assisted therapy is conducted as a part of a whole therapy process.
Occupational therapy
Occupational therapy for children and adolescents is rehabilitation of the mental, physical and the social performance. The goal is that the child/adolescent will be able to increase his/her skills and function as pervasively as possible when playing, going to school and doing school work as well as when taking care of oneself.
The occupational therapy visits can be executed at Terapialampi’s premises or within the natural environment of the child; at school, at home or at the kindergarten.
The co-operation with the child’s family and/or with other possible networks important to the child is a crucial part of the rehabilitation.
Terapialampi offers a cozy environment as well as a versatile set of various activities from which those meaningful to the child/adolescent can be found during the therapy sessions. The activities can be for example various crafts, board games, kinematic games as well as imaginary plays.
Family psychotherapy
Family therapy is a form of treatment that provides help to one or more family members. Together, the purpose of treatment is to understand family interaction in a way that promotes the well-being of the whole family. Family therapy visits can be attended by the whole family, some family members, or just one family member. The configuration in which the meetings take place varies according to the needs and situation of the family.
Family therapy can be an opportunity to understand and face a variety of difficulties, problems, symptoms, or illnesses with people close to you. Even when things are encountered in life for which nothing can be done, one can together understand the situation, share experiences and seek resources for everyday life. Family therapy is a great way to find and build opportunities to move forward in life, despite the difficulties.
In family therapy, it is also possible to utilize functional methods, such as Theraplay therapy and dog assistance.
